An H-section steel beam is a high-performance horizontal structural member whose optimized I-shaped cross-section delivers a high moment of inertia and section modulus, enabling it to resist heavy bending loads with minimal deflection while using far less material than concrete or solid rectangular beams. Because the wide flanges concentrate material where bending stress is highest, H-beams achieve an outstanding strength-to-weight ratio and are the standard choice for primary roof beams, floor girders, large-span ropes and crane runway beams in industrial, commercial and bridge construction.

 

We supply high-strength H-section steel beams in two routes - hot-rolled standard sections in GB HW/HM/HN (GB/T 11263) and EN HEA/HEB/HEM (EN 10365, EN 10034) from about 100×100 to 900×300, and welded H-beams built up to any exact depth/width/weight/length - in Q235B/Q355B, S235JR/S355JR/S355J2 or A36/A572 Gr.50. Every beam is Tekla-detailed, pre-drilled and delivered erection-ready to GB 50017, EN 1993 or AISC 360.

The production process of H-Section Steel Beams mainly includes hot rolling process and welding process.


1.Hot rolling process: The steel billet is heated to a high temperature and then undergoes a series of rolling processes to gradually form the shape of the H-shaped steel. This process has high production efficiency, stable product quality and excellent mechanical properties.


2.Welding process: The shape of the H-shaped steel is spliced by welding. During the welding process, the welding quality needs to be strictly controlled to ensure the strength and toughness of the weld. The welding process can produce some special specifications and shapes of H-shaped steel to meet specific needs.

What is the difference between hot-rolled and welded H-beams?

 

Hot-rolled H-beams are rolled from a heated billet into standard sizes (GB HW/HM/HN or EN HEA/HEB/HEM) - high efficiency, stable quality, consistent properties. Welded H-beams build up flange+web by welding, so non-standard depth/width/weight can be produced to your exact section modulus and length.

 

Can you fabricate holes, copes and connections on the H-beam?

 

Yes - pre-drilled bolt holes, end copes/splays, welded end plates, stiffeners and bracing cleats, all Tekla-detailed so beams arrive ready to bolt without site drilling.

 

What length and how do you ship long H-beams?
